Welcome!

Ms. Levens and Ms. Khan are excited to welcome the children to Hibiscus Elementary for the 2017-2018 school year. We have planned many great activities and look forward to a wonderful year. The Half Day Speech and Language Program is a unique part of Prek SPED. The program consists of an AM or PM session and is taught by a Speech Pathologist. The students follow a classroom routine with an emphasis on speech and language. The classroom focuses on building receptive and expressive vocabulary, increasing the length and quality of each child's sentences, and most importantly, providing opportunities to practice appropriate social language in a natural, nurturing environment. Our classes also follow the HighScope curriculum and incorporate Building Early Language and Literacy as well as Conscious Discipline.

Please check your child's book bag  for homework. Along with speech sounds we will be working on shapes, letters, numbers, colors, and writing. Remember to READ every night. 
It is very important that you follow up at home with what we are doing at school. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
